The NCC is working with the Ministry of Communication Technology and stakeholders to grow this to 35% by 2017. With 47,143,356 Internet users as at the end of 2011, 28.43% of Nigerians have access to the Internet (ITU data). That makes Nigeria the leading African country in terms of the number of Internet users and 10th globally.
