Good speech , no doubt with a tremendous power of persuasion. Running for the office of the presidents, we need to set aside sentiments and look at the substance and the requirement of the qualification of the presidents. As I see it the qualification calls for as follows, visionary leader, techno-crat in economic policy formation, ability to bring people together good enough persuade them to buy into your vision, then translate the visions to reality. A good sense of temperament to relate with people with special interest and diverging views such as Nigerian house of congress and senate. Yes, Pat Utomi has vision, power of persuasion and extensive corporate experience, but does he have the temperament to persuade people with divergence views, special interest good enough to convince them to push his program through congress and translate his vision into reality. I say, this attribute of his qualification is yet to be tested. Well , as they say, the journey of a thousand mile begins with a step. So far so good !!

I'd been looking for an avenue to let out my feelings on Prof Utomi's bid. Without doubt he is the best candidate on the stage. But do I think he stands a chance of winning, NO!
I really think the best option we have at the moment is an alliance with Buhari. Buhari is the only credible candidate that has a fair chance of winning the elections. I understand there is alot of discomfort about the human rights record of his military regime but I think that is forgiveable. At least we can find reasons to believe he acted in the best interest of the country as he saw fit at the time. We do not accuse that govt of murders. Today we've not been told who killed Bola Ige, Marshal harry or Dikibo and why Odi was wiped out but we still call it a democracy.
I believe what we need is to have Prof Utomi run with Buhari. Buhari has the stature that can withstand the sanity in the political arena while the Prof can tackle the economy and social orientation. To face the facts the political arena is wild; I believe Buhari can handle it and his record with Idiagbon suggests that he would give his VP room to operate.
I just cannot imagine another 8 yrs of PDP govt. By then I'd be in my mid 30s, I know they can't deliver the Nigeria we need to see.
I BEG ALL THOSE WHO HAVE ISSUES WITH BUHARI TO DROP THEM AND ALLOW US TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO STOP THE RAVING MADNESS CALLED PDP.
If we refuse to face these realities we are in essence promoting another PDP govt. All I see to come out of that is OBJ becoming an Adedibu on the National scale. Yar'adua has no idea, he appears to be campaigning more for OBJ than himself. Goodluck will bring no goodluck to the NIger Delta. We seem to forget he was DSP's looting assistant.
